April 23, 2009 – PHOENIX – The 12TH Annual Ride for the Children will hit the streets Sunday, April 26th at 7 AM, with over 700 bicyclists riding in the Real Gift Foundation fund-raiser. The ride brings awareness to the needs of the over 13,000 homeless children attending schools throughout Maricopa County. It’s a favorite charity event for Valley cyclists of all skill levels offering 3 choices - a 65-mile metric century, a 25-mile and 10-mile bike rides.

April 3, 2009 – TOLLESON, AZ — Albertson’s stores in Arizona are partnering with HealthFair to provide several key health screenings via the HealthFair’s mobile screening unit to customers. Patients can schedule everything from cardiac screenings, vascular screenings, osteoporosis screenings, and cholesterol level screenings, to some of the most common blood tests, including glucose, thyroid, and liver blood tests.
Honeysuckle White® turkey More To Share® program announces holiday food donation to benefit Denver-area hungry and homeless
DENVER, Colo. – As part of its national More To Share® hunger-fighting program, the producers of Honeysuckle White® turkey products, announced today that they will donate 1,400 pounds of turkey to Catholic Charities Samaritan House to help feed the hungry of Denver during the holidays. The donation will be made in cooperation with Honeysuckle White turkey’s valued grocery partner, Albertsons.
DIVISION PROFILE
Albertsons-Osco has been working hard to be the favorite grocery store in the Southwest division, which spans Arizona, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. The Southwest Division of Albertsons LLC is made up of 80 Albertsons-Osco food and drug stores and 24 Albertsons Express fuel centers, and their Tolleson, Arizona-based Distribution Center. The division employs over 8,700 associates.
At Albertsons, our communities mean a great deal, and in 2006 Albertsons donated over $800,000 dollars to organizations that benefit youth and education through our Community Partners program and grassroots outreach at our stores. Albertsons partners with Second Harvest Food Banks in the division through food donations, and is actively involved in raising funds for hunger relief every day through Food For All. Throughout our division, select stores participate in a Fresh Rescue program where food banks are able to pick up fresh products they need the most, including meat and produce. Albertsons, our customers, and vendors partner with the Muscular Dystrophy Association through our annual Shamrock sales and last year raised over $130,000 to benefit Jerry’s Kids. The Southwest division is also an avid supporter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and last year, raised over $200,000 to support finding a cure for Juvenile diabetes.
