July 20, 2007 - Albertson’s LLC makes Food Recall Information Available Online
New company website provides customers easy-to-access information about potentially hazardous product recalls, food safety, health and nutrition information.
Boise, ID—Albertson’s LLC is making available detailed information about potentially hazardous product recalls that may impact its stores throughout the country. Albertsons customers can find this information in the Consumer Information Center on the company’s new Web site, www.albertsonsmarket.com.
“We recognize that consumers don’t always hear about product recalls—and when they do, it can be difficult for them to understand whether it has impacted their local store. By launching this new ‘Consumer Information Center,’ Albertsons provides its shoppers with an additional way to check to see whether a potentially hazardous product recall has impacted their neighborhood store,” said Bob Butler, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising for Albertson’s LLC. “This is a first step in helping make product recalls more transparent for our shoppers.”
Information provided on the site is not exhaustive of all the product manufacturer recalls in Albertson’s stores, but rather a listing of the potentially hazardous product recalls for which the company has received notification from its vendors or regulatory agencies. The information is provided to customers subject to the quality and timeliness of information provided to Albertson’s LLC’s. Of course, comprehensive product recall information is always available from government regulatory agencies—and links to many of these websites are available on Albertson’s LLC’s site.
In addition to the new Consumer Information Center, Albertson’s LLC’s site now contains comprehensive health and nutrition information made available by Healthnotes. In the new “Health Matters” section of the website, customers can find breaking news about health and diet, information about vitamins, minerals and supplements, explore various diet plans, find tasty, heart-healthy meal recipes, and much more. “Health Matters” portal is an interactive wellness portal that delivers fresh ideas and fast answers to help Albertsons’ shoppers live healthier, happier lives.
“Providing access to wellness information and healthy meal ideas allows Albertsons’ shoppers to make easy, every-day decisions about what to feed their families,” explained Butler.
Albertson’s LLC is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The company is privately owned and operates over 340 stores under the Albertson’s banner in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming
