April 24th, 2007 - ALBERTSONS SHAM-ROCKED TO FIGHT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY: $193,000 Raised in Annual Shamrocks Campaign
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX, April 24, 2007 – Albertsons associates and customers in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma raised over $193,000 through the annual Shamrocks Against Dystrophy program. This money will be donated directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) chapters in the areas where Albertsons operates.
“This year the Shamrock Campaign kicked off in conjunction with Albertsons fresh new spirit campaign,” said William Emmons, President Albertsons DFW Division. “You could feel the charitable spirit as our stores front lobby’s transformed into a sea of green with shamrocks decorating the walls. MDA works tirelessly to fund research for muscular dystrophy and we are proud that we can make such a substantial donation.”

MDA is a voluntary health agency striving to defeat more than 40 neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive client services and far-reaching professional and public health education.
