Robert G. Miller Elected to FMI Board
LAS VEGAS, NV — MAY 4, 2008 — Food Marketing Institute (FMI) announced today the election of Robert G. Miller, CEO of Albertsons LLC, to the FMI Board of Directors.Albertsons owns more than 330 supermarkets and other retail outlets in nine southern and western states under the Albertsons, County Line Liquor and Super Saver food banners.
Throughout Miller’s 40 years in retailing, he has improved the financial and operating performance of both public and private corporations, as well as leading troubled companies back to health.
Prior to joining Albertsons in 2006, he was the chairman and CEO of the Rite Aid Corporation. Miller also was vice chairman and CEO at The Kroger Co., and CEO at Fred Meyer, Inc.
Miller’s career began at Albertsons, where he spent 30 years, rising from store manager to executive vice president of retail operations.Miller serves on the Boards of The City of Hope, Jim Pattison Group, Nordstrom, Inc., Rite Aid and United States Bakery. He attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA, and the Executive Management Program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
