Honeysuckle White® turkey More To Share® program announces holiday food donation to benefit Denver-area hungry and homeless

DENVER, Colo. – As part of its national More To Share® hunger-fighting program, the producers of Honeysuckle White® turkey products, announced today that they will donate 1,400 pounds of turkey to Catholic Charities Samaritan House to help feed the hungry of Denver during the holidays. The donation will be made in cooperation with Honeysuckle White turkey’s valued grocery partner, Albertsons. 

Samaritan House is among the 28 charities across the country to which the More To Share program will donate turkeys this year. Nationwide, the company plans to deliver nearly 40 tons of turkey to charities to help feed hundreds of thousands of people in need this holiday season.

“With the tough economic situation facing our country, more families are having a tough time making ends meet, and many may have had to go without a Thanksgiving turkey this year. Our company is proud to donate turkeys again this year to those less fortunate in hopes of making their Thanksgiving a bit brighter,” said Amanda Pokorny of the Honeysuckle White and Shady Brook Farms More To Share program. “However, charities such as Samaritan House need not only food items, but money and volunteers as well. Our donation is a starting point, and we challenge other businesses and individuals in the Denver area to join us in helping to fight hunger however they can.”

Michael Suchnicki, Chaplain of Samaritan House. “The demand for food from our constituents continues to grow, and this donation helps us take a step closer to meeting those needs.”

Since the More To Share program began 12 years ago, it has donated more than 472,000 tons of Honeysuckle White turkey to charities across the country.  This is the 12th consecutive year Samaritan House will receive Honeysuckle White turkeys to help feed its constituents.
